Adoption procedure
Would you like to adopt a cat? Read all the steps below!
Step 1
The first step is to register the cat. You do this with a microchip. This will be placed at the vet.

Step 3
After 2 weeks the cat has to get a blood test for rabies at the vet. Keep in mind that the cat has to be under anesthesia for this so that you have time afterwards to comfort him. Go to your vet in your country & let the sample sent to a recognized laboratory (they know).

Step 5
Is it 3 months after the rabies vaccination? Then you are ready to go. Collect all documents together and search for a transport box and a cat harness. Register your cat on the flight. Go to your flight-edit and add "fly with a pet." If you have 1 cat, you can take it with you in the cabin in a soft box, with 2 cats in 1 (hard) box you have to choose the aircraft hold.

Step 7
When you arrive at the airport (Sharm el Sheikh) you have to go the the incheck/departure counter.
They're gonna check in your normal luggage first. After this they're checking the (cat) documents.
You will leave the box at the check-in counter.

Veterinary in Dahab
Hereby the contact from the vets:
Microchip & vaccination: The Ark Veterinary Clinic
Documents verification: Veterinary authority of Egypt Dr. Atef Tamer - Manager of Veterinarian administration

Step 2
Vaccinate the cat against rabies (Egypt is a high risk country), this is possible when the cat is 15 weeks old. Officially, after this vaccin you have to wait 21 days, but you will mention that arranging everything will take more time to arrange (you will not be finished within 21 days, see next steps)

Step 4
When you got the results back, you have to make an appointment with the veterinary authority of Egypt to get stamps & signatures on the health certificate (print this out).

Step 6
When you come to the baggage check, the cat can't go to the baggage X-ray, you have to take him out & go through the normal gate. Only the box goes through the X-ray for baggage.

Step 8
Tell the pilot (to be sure) that you took a cat with you, they will keep an extra eye on the airco in the hold of the aircraft. When you arrive at the airport in Belgium or Holland, you have to pick the cat up at the 'special luggage' department. After 15 minutes you'll be ruinited with your cat to give him/her a beautiful forever home.

Flight parents
People regularly fly to a country and want to take an animal with them, for abroad adoption, so you don't have to come to the country to pick them up yourself. Search here for your flight parent.
