ARRIVAL & APARTMENT

On September 18, I went on a plane to Egypt, alone, with the goal of helping the non-profit charity Dahab Cats Shelter with the care and treatment of the cats. I've been thinking about this for years but couldn't leave my country because of work and school. Since I was done with everything this September, I was finally able to help. And that's what I did.

My friend Jemi came to pick me up from the airport. He welcomed me by inviting me to a bar with a live band. It was fantastic to be back in this close-knit community where people are relaxed & really appreciate you.

Apartment

I was able to rent this apartment from Khaled, the owner of Hells kitchen restaurant. I got on very well with him and we drank a lot of wine together haha. The apartment is located at the most busy point in the Lighthouse area, with beautiful views over the sea. That was so peaceful. Sometimes there were some things that didn't work properly, as the oven that gave me a huge electric shock twice and the tap that broke (but that's okay, it's egypt) Also Char & Lou were very comfortable in this apartment.

Balcony cats

I had 2 balcony cats: Lucy & Panter. I gave them food, water & love everyday.

Charlie & Lou (my kittens) didn't know what to think of them. Charlie wanted to play with Panter, but when he actually played with Charlie, he got scared haha. Lou is very shy so she didn't interact with Panter (too intimidating I think). She did try to be friends with Lucy and got slapped a lot, but after 4 weeks it worked out! (see picture below)
